'PINK FLAMINGOS' -- Poster Art Print

This is an image of the actual "poster" used to hawk fake tabloids in 'Pink Flamingos' (the paper was called the 'National Peep').

The type, headline copy, photos, etc., were all created by John Waters for the film, in order to help convey the tabloid sensationalism he was seeking.

That's another way of saying: the punk ethos does not make this a commercial typical poster.

The technical limitations are built into the presentation, in essence: faded colors; garish contrasts; etc.

But again, this is deliberative to the concept, of course.

Though some might laugh, 'Pink Flamingos' is probably one of the most important films of the 1970s re: LBBTQ and representation in the emerging queer media.
